The International Museum of Women's (I.M.O.W.) public programs and events are designed to address contemporary gender issues in the twenty-first century and through education, serve as a catalyst for change.
With these public programs and events, I.M.O.W. offers a unique blend of new perspectives and well-known, established voices. Writers, scholars, civic leaders, and artists are invited to participate in a wide range of lectures, conversations, seminars and conferences that amplify the voices of women around the world.

November 18, 2008: Dr. Beatriz Merino, Latin America's first female prime minister and currently Peru's national human rights ombudswoman, appeared in conversation with Ysabel Duron in the I.M.O.W. Speaker Series in San Francisco, CA.
March 8, 2008: International Museum of Women's Annual Gala 2008 and launch celebration of Women, Power and Politics global online exhibition in San Francisco, CA.
May 14, 2008: Dr. Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, president of the Republic of Latvia from 1999 to July 2007, appeared in coversation with Sydnie Kohara in the I.M.O.W. Speaker Series in San Francisco, CA.

July 16, 2008: Proclaimed the "the bravest woman in Afghanistan" by the BBC, I.M.O.W. welcomed Malalai Joya, a member of Afghanistan's parliament, as its featured Speaker Series guest in San Francisco, CA.
