About me:
Naomi Wanjiku has worked with fibers and fabrics ever since she was a child. Her grandmother’s friends were basket weavers, and from them she learned to use the local materials to make migiyo (fibers, in the Kïküyü language). She received formal art and design training at the University of Nairobi and the University of California, Los Angeles, where she did her graduate work.
