Anisha Narasimhan creció en India pero pasó muchos años viviendo en Estados Unidos. Ella es un reciente "trasplante“ del área de la bahía de San Francisco donde estudió fotografía en el San Francisco Art Institute. Su trabajo mezcla su historia como inmigrante homosexual del sudeste asiático con una saludable dosis de sensibilidades urbanas postmodernas. Ella vive en el Bronx Sur Sur con su familia y aún está tratando lentamente de encontrar su lugar en el monolítico mundo del arte de Nueva York.
