Mayerly Sánchez is a peace activist and volunteer from Colombia. At the young age of twelve, inspired by the violent death of her close friend Milton, Mayerly established the Colombian Children's Movement for Peace. The movement aims to provide children with the resources to promote nonviolence among their peers. Mayerly and her movement were nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1998. She is currently involved with World Vision for Children.
