Kavita Joshi is an independent filmmaker and media trainer based in Delhi. Her recent projects have focused on women and their protests for justice and human rights. Her films have received many awards, including a Silver Remi at WorldFest Houston 2007, Best Film on Human Rights at the 18th UGC CEC Awards in India, and the Best Films award at the 15th UGC CEC Awards in India. Her work has also won honors for Best Editing and Best Audio and has appeared in film festivals from Munich to Karachi and in cities as diverse as New York, Lausanne, Ghent, Antwerp, Delhi, and Bangalore. She is currently involved in creating training material on gender and the media, with the support of IAWRT. She is part of the anti-censorship movement of independent filmmakers across India, and is actively involved in Films for Freedom and the Delhi Film Archive.
