Human Rights and the New Economy

I.M.O.W. Global Council member Mary Robinson argues that a time of economic crisis is a perfect opportunity for improving labor conditions for workers across the world--men and women alike. Previously, Robinson worked as the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, and served as the president of Ireland. Robinson currently heads up Realizing Rights: The Ethical Globalization Initiative.

From Economica:

I.M.O.W. Global Council member Rajaa Khuzai argues that the hundreds of thousands of widows in Iraq must no longer be ignored, and that their economic contributions must be harnessed to help the war-torn country recover. Dr. Khuzai is a physician and former member of the Iraqi National Assembly. She is currently the President of the Iraqi Widows' Organization, a role which earned her a Nobel Peace Prize nomination in 2004.
