I have been making feminist art since I was a teenager. In many ways, it came relatively easily: I am a fourth-generation feminist. My art making is an exploration of the roles of women, from weddings, to pregnancies and motherhood. I explore the rituals surrounding the female experience, sometimes making sense of them for myself, other times poking at them with humor, and irreverence. I realize the privilege it is to see the world from this vantage, and I'm grateful for it every day. As my aunt once said to me, "the feminist viewpoint can sometimes be painful, but once you know, you can never go back."
