This political character of Islam is a relatively new phenomenon in Lebanon. In the past, one’s identity was defined by one’s nationality, but today it is often defined by one’s religion.

Practicing Buddhism and Hinduism, I discovered that meditation and mindfulness are seeds of inner-peace. Grounded in my spirituality, I started volunteering, holding my elected officials accountable and raising my voice in protest.

We were outraged by the Church’s audacity and anachronistic accusations and decided to organize this protest performance on June 21, 2006, in Republic Square, the Belgrade’s main square.
