I was amazed by this calligraphy. I have seen a lot of calligraphy before but this is absolutely different. It is evocative, sensitive and, yes, reverent. Beautiful
Expanding the Arc
I believe one expands one's arc of knowledge as they read. Pesonally, I grew more spiritual as I started to read the Qur'an. Reading and reciting the Arabic text was an act of devotion for me; the alphabet turned into words and the words turned into the names of God. Expanding the Arc explores, by merging the Arabic alphabet and the calligraphic Arabic names of God, the gradual and continuous expansion of our understanding and knowledge. I call this intellectual and spiritual growth "expanding my arc of knowledge."

The circular motion of each letter has different strokes of recitation. Some strokes are bold, some dynamic and some exist to support others. The rhythmic, yet constant strokes slowly become tangible forms. A letter forms, and pronunciation becomes more distinct, and reading more fluent. Yet trial and error is inevitable in a learning process, which is why strokes of learning in life have different valances.

I repeat strokes because, as we learn to speak, we repeat our words and sound out every word in the pursuit of perfection. Through this struggle of repetition and revision comes illumination--the sense and understanding of a world that is beyond our immediate orbit of understanding. The arc of knowledge becomes wider because of the knowledge gained.

This is a great piece of work. You immediately feel and sense of emotion and a connection is difficult to explain, yet no doubt powerful.
