Program Sponsorship Opportunities

The International Museum of Women (I.M.O.W.) hosts many local, national and international public events in addition to its unique exhibitions. These programs provide great opportunities for corporations to participate in I.M.O.W.'s multi-faceted strategies to engage and impact diverse audiences of women and men from around the world.

Exhibitions

The International Museum of Women's global online exhibition Women, Power and Politics is showcased in four languages, Arabic, English, French, and Spanish, at www.imow.org/wpp and serves as the most comprehensive online source of women's political participation worldwide.

Opportunities for the Exhibiting You 2009 showcase, as well as the upcoming exhibition encompassing themes of women, money, poverty and wealth set to launch in October 2009, are to be announced shortly.

Speaker Series

The Extraordinary Voices, Extraordinary Change Speaker Series program, launched in 2004, has offered San Francisco Bay Area audiences the opportunity to hear accomplished women from around the world present perspectives on issues that affect the well-being and status of women globally.

In 2008, the Speaker Series addressed the timely theme of Women, Power and Politics. Her Excellency, Dr Vaira Vike-Freiberga, President of Latvia, 1999-2007; Malalai Joya, the "bravest woman in Afghanistan;" and Dr. Beatriz Merino, Latin America's first female prime minister, were the featured speakers in 2008.

Speakers for 2009 are to be announced shortly.

The Global Council

I.M.O.W.'s Global Council, formed in 2005, is an international group of 28 diverse community leaders from 18 countries who are committed to strengthening and improving the lives of women around the globe.

The Global Council advises I.M.O.W.'s Board of Directors on an ongoing basis on a range of issues and helps to establish and develop connections to the wider global community, and provides information and resources about issues affecting women in their region or field of expertise. They serve as ambassadors of I.M.O.W. and are an active and global voice to create broad support, understanding and visibility. At the culmination of a day-long private meeting with the board and staff of the museum, I.M.O.W. hosts a public program to highlight the work of these world leaders.

On October 15, 2007, I.M.O.W. formally launched its New York public programming with its third annual Global Council event to a sold-out crowd of philanthropists, activists and community and business leaders. The fourth Global Council meeting and public event will take place in October 2009. Stay tuned for details!
